Permiso de importación temporal de vehículo para ciudadanos Americanos /Canadienses, y personas con residencia permanente o temporal (GREEN CARD), así como los portadores de visas de trabajo que puedan demostrar que han trabajado durante más de un año en EUA o Canadá.

Este permiso se requiere para vehículos de EUA. y Canadá que viajen ​​más de 21 kilómetros al sur de la frontera de EUA y México.

El permiso no se requiere cuando los vehículos viajan al sur de la frontera EUA. -México por menos de 21 kilómetros. Hay tres estados que no requieren permiso; Baja California Norte, Baja California Sur y parte de Sonora.


Los extranjeros (no mexicanos) con tarjeta de residente temporal (FM3/FM2) el permiso tendrá la misma vigencia, que su estatus migratorio. Si la Tarjeta de Residente Temporal (FM3/FM2) se renueva o se obtiene por primera vez los solicitantes deben presentar un aviso por escrito y copia de la tarjeta de residente temporal en  cualquier Oficina de Aduanas dentro de los 15 días siguientes a partir  de la fecha cuando el documento migratorio se  obtuvo por primera vez  o fue  renovado, si el solicitante no regresa el permiso a tiempo  la fianza no será  reembolsada.

Temporary Vehicle Importation Permits for US and Canadian Citizens Traveling to Mexico by vehicle


Overview:
Suppose you're a citizen of the USA or Canada. Or permanent or temporary resident or a valid working visa with a work history of over one year in either country. In that case, you can apply for a Temporary Vehicle Importation Permit to drive your vehicle more than 21 kilometers south of the USA-Mexico borders.

Travel Limits:
Notably, no permit is necessary if your travel is within the 21-kilometer limit south of the USA-Mexico borders. Additionally, three states do not require permits: North Baja California, South Baja California, and a portion of Sonora.

Temporary Importation Permit (TIP) for Temporary Resident Card Holders
You can apply for the Temporary Importation Permit (TIP) as a Temporary Resident Card Holder. This permit allows you to drive your vehicle within Mexico.
The expiration date of the TIP will coincide with your immigration status and its renewals, provided they are sequential. 

Steps after renewing or obtaining the Temporary Vehicle Importation Permit
If you renew or get the Temporary Resident Card for the first time, you must take prompt action. A written notice and a copy of the filing receipt, containing the NUT # and the TIP permit, must be submitted to any Customs office within 15 days of filing the immigration document for the TIP permit to become valid. And to get the bond back when you return the TIP.
